I’ve had to recreate a lot of the pages of the Book of Mer when my external drive failed. Still in that process now. I didnt know my hub is frying my computer. So I may need to figure out a new set up.

I’m laying out the artbooks as well. So many moving parts.

The music is presently being mixed and mastered

I wasn’t going to say anything until it was picked up but I am currently making the pitch deck for the book of Mer ‘Cartoon’. Which means I’m taking scenes from the comic, doing a treatment and seeing if a company would like to animate it.

So I’ve written the END of the first arc of book of Mer in cartoon form which has changed a few things in the beginning. I’m just rescanning all these pages and sketches and rerendering them which feels small in the state of the world right now. But you deserve an update. So here it is! More soon.

Getting settled in and back to work!

Woot! I've gotten to the place where I can function in the sea of boxes and I'm taking my time organizing the small bits around the new house but I'm happy to say i'm getting back to work on the book of Mer. Thought I'd share a little. More coming soon! -Afua

Happy Holidays! Here's an update!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Dec 19, 2021 at 12:31:52 AM

SO! This has been a god-awful year! Hahaha

But It's almost over, and it's getting better. I attended conventions and saved up to get two of my three spine treatments. I moved cross country [ which was awful on my bones ], And I spent the Thanksgiving Holiday hooked up to an IV to restore my vitals because I'd run myself down so much working so hard to get things ready, I'd become anemic and hypoglycemic.

Fun.

Good news; I've made it to Illinois. I am currently living in a labyrinth of boxes and plan on working on the book of Mer after the holidays when I can unbury myself from cardboard life. I'm moving a bit slow, so I Imagine by the end of January I should be all settled in [ moving bookshelves on my own isn't the most fun time I've had], But I'll set up a new release date [ thinking May 2022 but I want to get this done first before setting the date in Stone], And You'll be the first to know! I'll share updates, so you know I'm still alive as I progress.

Thank you in advance for your patience! Happy holidays and I'll update ya at the top of the year!

Getting my bones fixed this week!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 17, 2021 at 01:40:03 AM

Excited to say that after doing 2 shows, I can afford to get my spine treated! I didn't want to use kickstarter funds for personal medical expenses so I had to hustle to get things together to get this spine worked on! Treatment starts tomorrow and I'll be getting back to work on the Book of Mer in about a week! I'm so excited to be my regular self again!

Last week I travelled to Belmar NJ, where for the first time in 2 years I've been able to meet the musicians working on the Book of mer in PERSON. It was a wonderful experience and I really look forward to sharing this music with you.
